Gon and killua funny moments6/30/2023 ![]() It fully embraces the duality of mankind. But the Chimera Ant Arc is WIDELY considered one of the greatest arcs in anime history. York New City was a splendid arc and 2nd best in the series. The genre has too many younger underdeveloped minds who can’t comprehend mature themes. It’s getting where you can’t even Google for good accurate information anymore. Anyone who puts anything above Chimera Ant Arc has more than a few screws loose. I can talk all day about the character development in this arc, but let’s not spoil the fun.įinally, this arc is filled with the highest of all the high moments in the show and will always be one of the best Hunter x Hunter arcs of all time for many.Īgreed with the other comment. You can’t even predict how things are going to turn out as there were many twists and shocking moments along the way. This arc featured several incredible battles, and one was hands down among two of the greatest battles I have ever seen in an anime. While the writing is absolutely top-tier high in this arc, the pacing dips down slightly at the beginning of the setup, which was something I didn’t expect. The Hunters Association going head-to-head against the supreme and powerful King Mereum was a sight to behold. There were a large number of characters involved in this arc and everyone’s participation was shown effortlessly. This arc took nearly 8+ years to finish in the manga and two years in anime, which speaks volumes about its story. Want to see the protagonists fight an OP villain? It is the Chimera Ant arc that will fulfill your wish. The Chimera Ant arc is easily one of the GOAT arcs in the history of anime and manga. This arc is just perfect in every aspect and is the reason why it has a slight edge over the Chimera Ant arc in my books. I (as well as many other fans) didn’t want this arc to end, and that’s how much everyone fell in love with this arc. This arc manages to pull off many exhilarating battles between the main characters while keeping the narrative riveting until the end. Moreover, we get to see Kurapika and his chain abilities take center stage in this arc. And it is one of my favorite groups of villains as they are uber cool, have unique abilities, and make the series way more spell-binding. Not only do we have Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio present at the auction site, but we are also introduced to the main antagonists of the series – The Phantom Troupe. We have the main characters enter a mega auction inside the world of HxH where the events start to get heated up. In my opinion, it surpasses all the other HxH arcs as it offers the most enthralling ride in the series. Though they're not confirmed to be in a relationship, that moment brings up questions about what could have been. The Yorknew City arc is the pinnacle of the Hunter x Hunter anime series. The poison icing on the equally poison cake is that just before they meet their grisly fate, there's a moment when the two of them are riding on a motorcycle together, looking very content to be in each other's presence. Pokkle's broken voice as an Ant fiddles around in his brain is low-key horrifying. Ponzu is shot repeatedly while Pokkle is kidnaped by the Ants so that they could force him to reveal the secrets of Nen before ultimately disposing of him. But Ponzu's bee-based techniques make her useful despite her lack of hunter status, so she ends up joining Pokkle and a few other friends to infiltrate NGL and try to deal with the Chimera Ants. Both try their best, but only Pokkle is able to pass the exam and move towards his goal of becoming a Beast Hunter. When we first meet Pokkle and Ponzu, they're among the many contestants in the Hunter Exams. If you're not crying by the end of this scene, you probably don't have tear ducts. They continue playing until their strength runs out, then move to laying in each others' arms calling out to each other until only Komugi remains. He warns her that the poison is contagious, but she decides to pass away with him. After the poison from Netero's Poor Man's Rose infects Meruem, he wants to play one last game of Gungi with Komugi in what little time he has left. ![]() Sadly, the two don't have much time to spend together. He develops a bond with her beyond anything he was thought to be capable of feeling. When playing with her, he finds himself utterly enraptured by the game - and unexpectedly attached to Komugi. ![]() He finds this with Komugi, a human girl who is an expert at a game called Gungi. While his Royal Guards find plenty of meaning in that pursuit, Meruem is looking for something a little more personally meaningful. This isn't just one of the saddest scenes in Hunter x Hunter, it's one of the saddest scenes in anime, period.Īs the King of the Chimera Ants, Meruem isn't really sure what the point of his existence is other than amassing power. ![]()
